Denbighshire County Council

Prior to COVID-19, we were due to conduct a North Wales Roadshow in conjunction with Denbighshire and Flintshire Council’s, with this roadshow originally scheduled to occur in April 2020. For obvious reasons, we have had to postpone our visit to North Wales but we look forward to rescheduling this roadshow when we can.

In the meantime, we have supplied Denbighshire County Council with both Meadowscape Pro and Wildflower Turf for a wonderful project in Rhuthun.

The turf was used around an outdoor living classroom project at Rhos Street Primary School, and it is looking stunning as the image below shows!

The project is part of a wider and ongoing project that has transformed an overgrown area into a haven for wildlife.

In 2017 a pond was excavated, and local volunteers helped to build a bird-hide (pictured above) within the setting. This bird-hide has benefitted from the installation of our Wildflower Turf, with the students also learning about insect pollinators with the installation of solitary bee boxes, which are proving popular with red mason and leafcutter bees.

“‘The Living Classroom’ enables us to provide meaningful and enjoyable environmental tasks and experiences in the wider countryside. This hands-on experience is vital for the children to recognise and value the role they play in a sustainable future”, said Joanne Davies, Eco Co-ordinator, Rhos Street School.

We couldn’t agree more!!
