Case Study
Client: Friends of Myton Pool Trust
Project: Restoration of historic pool area
Date: May 2011
Size: 650m²
Back in early Spring, February 2011 we were approached by Mike and Celia Hardiman of the "Friends of Myton Pool Trust", who were wanting to create a Wildflower Meadow as part of their restoration project around the historic pool at the Myton Hospice in Warwickshire.
The restoration of the pool and surrounding meadow was financed thanks to a grant from The Big Lottery Funds Awards for All.
It wasn't many months before volunteers had cleared and thoroughly prepared the area around the pool, with nutrient rich top soil, stones and rubbish removed and the ground raked to a fine tilth.
Consequently, the 5th May dawned with the delivery of 650m² Wildflower Turf at around 09:30, with all 500 rolls (each roll is 1.25m²) laid by a gang of just 17 volunteers by teatime the same day.
Watch the video yourself and see how they did it!
Mike was clearly pleased as he wrote to us saying, "We have posted a movie on our website showing the turf laying if you'd like to see it".
