The Inspire Business Awards are hosted each year to celebrate business successes in Basingstoke and North Hampshire.
As reported by Sardine Media, one of the event Sponsors, “Coronet Turf was a finalist last year and has built its business on an innovative Wildflower Turf, the turf is produced using a unique soil-less process and has cornered the growing market in green roofing. The business is led by James Hewetson-Brown who continues to develop the product, researching the use of recycled wool carpeting in the production process. This is again an example of a small local business making an impact with an innovative product in an international market. The judges felt that the continual product innovation and research central to this business was key to its success as they explore new international markets.”

Our Wildflower Turf is an innovative, sustainable product that provides inspiration for designers and gardeners throughout the country who wish to encourage not just beautiful wildflowers into our lives but also the accompanying fauna.
We cannot ignore the fact that this recognition reflects the growing awareness that many of us feel that we need to provide habitats that attract butterflies, bees, beetles and birds, of which there is a rich assortment in the absence of the age-old wildflower meadows that our ancestors enjoyed.

Fantastic news! We won the Sustainable Business Award in the ‘Innovation and Technology’ section. This was sponsored by Business Link who visited our production site and ‘grilled’ us about our production methods and whether we were already selling the product and who to.
We were given the award during a gala evening at the De Vere Hotel in Southampton where we were treated to a delicious meal made up entirely from local produce and the award itself was designed and created by a Hampshire artist who sculpted a wildflower meadow effect, in a glass pane and set in Holm Oak from a local estate.
