Green Roofs

  • Coronets Wildflower turf is ideally suited for green roofs.

  • Soil-less turf, so light weight compared to conventional turf and many other alternatives.
  • The wildflower meadow plants used require little maintenance and need cutting only once a year.
  • The soil levels needed on the roof are minimized and so keep the roof weight down.
  • Because the plants thrive on a lack of fertility the roof environment suits them well, as this can be easily managed and there are a number of varieties within the mix that are drought tolerant, again minimizing maintenance.
  • The diversity of plants in the turf encourage insect and animal life, adding to the ‘green’ nature of the roof and the interest to be gained from it.
  • The development of the grasses and flowers in the mix and the strength with which they grow help to give excellent insulation properties both in hot or cold conditions.
